Brisbane have recalled out-of-favour forward Jack Gunston from his self-imposed stint out of the team as Melbourne have dropped three players for their must-win game against St Kilda.
Melbourne's inclusions feature Taj Woewodin, the son of Shane, who won his 2000 Brownlow Medal at the Demons.
Veteran Gunston is set to face West Coast after he stood himself down in June citing poor form, having kicked one goal in his previous four games.
He's not the only big name returning for the Lions with former captain Dayne Zorko and sturdy midfielder Jarryd Lyons also in to take on the Eagles.
But there's also plenty of movement the other way, red-hot Josh Dunkley to miss with his calf complaint and Jarrod Berry and Callum Ah Chee out through injury, while Lincoln McCarthy is suspended.
Struggling West Coast will look to snap their 13-game losing run without veteran duo Luke Shuey and Shannon Hurn, both failing to train this week after pulling up sore from their loss to St Kilda.
Star midfielder Tim Kelly will play after an illness while Jeremy McGovern is also set to return for his first game since round three after hamstring surgery.
Meanwhile, Melbourne have dropped James Harmes, Kade Chandler and Joel Smith as Bayley Fritsch goes out with a foot fracture.
Woewodin, Charlie Spargo and James Jordon are the inclusions.
Also on Thursday, Melbourne announced star midfielder Clayton Oliver could be sidelined for another month because of his hamstring injury.
St Kilda have also made big changes, with Zak Jones and Jack Billings to play their first senior games of the season after overcoming injury.
Zaine Cordy will return to the AFL for the first time since round seven, while Brad Hill and Jack Higgins are out because of knee injuries, Josh Battle misses with concussion and Ryan Byrnes was dropped.
Collingwood get Jordan De Goey back from a three-game suspension for their clash with the Western Bulldogs, while Ash Johnson is also in as the Magpies lose Brayden Maynard (shoulder) and Brody Mihocek (hamstring).
Half-back Ed Richards returns ahead of schedule for the Bulldogs after a hamstring strain he suffered back in round 12.
Hawthorn have lost veteran goal sneak Luke Breust for Saturday's trip to GWS after an injury in their loss to Carlton last weekend.
There's some positive injury news for the Hawks though, with running defender Jarman Impey (back) and youngster Tyler Brockman (illness) fit for the Giants clash.
The Giants get star man Lachie Whitfield back from a one-game ban.
Port Adelaide have picked seven-game prospect Sam Hayes to battle with Gold Coast ruckman Jarrod Witts as Scott Lycett (knee) deals with injury.
The Suns have a huge inclusion in the form of dual All-Australian Touk Miller, coach Stuart Dew culling Malcolm Rosas and Ben Long after their 78-point thrashing against Collingwood.
Carlton ruckman Tom De Koning is fit to face Fremantle after passing an injury test on his knee, a vital inclusion with fellow big Marc Pittonet also dealing with a knee injury.
Cooper Harvey, son of AFL games record holder Brent, has been picked to debut for North Melbourne on Sunday when they battle Geelong.
Brent, who played a record 432 games for North before retiring in 2016 and who remains at the club as a development coach, broke the news to his son at training on Thursday morning.
The Kangaroos will also have ruckman Tristan Xerri back for the first time since round one after ankle surgery.
For the Cats, power forward Jeremy Cameron remains on ice after his concussion against Melbourne last month, although Mark O'Connor has beaten his adductor issues.
They've lost Jake Kolodjashnij and Jed Bews to injury while Isaac Smith has been managed.
