A new salon has just opened its doors in Benalla.
Founded by Tanya Brosig, a skilled hairdresser, barber, colourist and extension technician, Brosig Nordic Hair Spa provides a vast range of services, from barbering and ladies’ styling to colour treatments and hair extensions.
The salon, located at 50 Nunn St, even offers its own exclusive range of Australian organic products for you to take home.

Why ‘Nordic Hair Spa’ for a name?
“I’ve done hair spa since 2013,” Tanya said.
“The TikToks made Japanese hair spas really popular.
“I thought, I am Nordic, so German and Swedish and Dane and all of that.
“Just thought I’d embrace my heritage and run with it, gave it a nice theme as well; that was a little different.”

Tanya, who has ADHD and is a mum to a child with autism/ADHD, knows firsthand how overstimulating regular salons can be.
“I don’t know of any (salon) actually around this area that do the silent appointments,” Tanya said.
“We decided to do that for a couple of reasons; I guess one is I’m always doing something a bit different anyway.
“That’s just how I seem to roll.
“But my son is autistic and ADHD, and after being in the industry for 30 years, I came to realise that there are actually a lot of people who have, like, salon anxiety; they just can’t get out.
“They don’t want to do that small talk.”
The salon is equipped with the latest quiet appliances and Tanya offers each customer options such as turning down the music or opting for a ‘silent treatment’.
Brosig Nordic Hair Spa is her 10th salon, so going the extra mile to ensure she can provide the best possible experience to cater to every client’s needs is in Tanya’s DNA.
With her daughter set to join as a hairdressing apprentice next year, Tanya plans to expand with a second spa room, ensuring even more clients can enjoy personalised treatments.
