Hundreds of people supported the Shearing for Kids with Cancer fundraising day at the Wanalta shearing shed of Bill Barlow on Friday, July 26.
Shearers gave up their time to make a contribution to the charity raising money for kids with cancer.
What started with just the shearing 10 years ago, has turned into a mini carnival with food, games, face painting, stalls, a wood auction and a huge open fire to keep everyone warm.
Co-ordinator Katrina Ogden said the event had been well supported by the shearing fraternity and the wider community, so they hoped to raise more than $60,000 this year, which would be channelled through the My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.
Bill Barlow’s shearing shed was pretty well crammed full of spectators keen to see the shearing.
