Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell is inviting established, amateur and aspiring photographers throughout the region to take part in the 2024 Nicholls calendar photography competition.

The calendar will showcase the essence of the Nicholls electorate, focusing on all the things that make this region unique.

Mr Birrell said the calendar was an excellent opportunity to highlight the remarkable facets of the region.

“My 2024 calendar will capture the characters, culture and charms that define our electorate,” he said.

“Whether it’s a snapshot of a local farm, a community group, a captivating weather event, an iconic postbox, an adorable puppy, a contented cow, a serene watering hole, a tourist hotspot, or a vibrant sports club — anything that represents our locality is welcome.

“I encourage people of all ages to submit their photographs.”

The top 12 entries, hand-picked by Mr Birrell, will earn a place in the calendar with photo credits.

Additionally, the person who submits the winning photograph chosen for the front cover will be rewarded with a $100 gift voucher for a Goulburn Valley photography store of their choice.

Participants must name their pictures and ensure they are in landscape format, available in either colour or black and white.

Minor editing is acceptable and mobile phone photos are welcome.

Entries can be submitted via email to sam.birrell.mp@aph.gov.au or dropped off at 426 Wyndham St, Shepparton, by Wednesday, November 1.
