The Davies family was perfect. Almost.

Selinda and Trent Davies were blessed with the dynamic duo of children Billie and Jesse Davies, who in turn enjoyed the love and devotion of American Staffy Narla.

Almost the perfect picture, but something was missing.

And Santa knew it.

So two Christmases ago, he delivered the final member of the Davies family.

Enter Peter. The rabbit. Obviously.

“I wasn’t sure how he would go when Santa dropped him off, but Narla puts up with him,” Mrs Davies said.

Billie said she could make sense of how Santa transported Peter but couldn’t understand how he was able to deliver the family a trampoline last Christmas.

Billie said she loved watching Peter battle Narla for food.

Mrs Davies said it was a sight to see, and that the much smaller Peter would attempt to fight Narla tooth and nail for her food, much to the annoyance of Narla.

Mrs Davies said Peter would often get a burst of energy and race around, trying to get Narla to play with her, but Narla was never interested.

Peter adores Narla, and is always fawning for her attention, and while Narla acts indifferent towards him, she can’t hide her affection for her baby brother.

Mrs Davies said the neighbouring kids would always come around to play with Peter.

“Both the animals put up with the kids and are great with them,” she said.

Peter has his own space outside for when the family isn’t home, but comes and goes from inside as he chooses.

Peter sports a pink hair clip to match his pink lead, which the family uses to walk him around the neighbourhood.

Mrs Davies said self-proclaimed “rabbit dad” Mr Davies got along well with Peter.

“Trent will sit and watch the news or play on his phone with Peter on his lap,” she said.

Mrs Davies said she couldn’t imagine their family without Peter and Narla.

“They’re great for the kids, and we love them,” she said.

“Peter was a perfect addition to our family.”
