The Shepparton Club’s August charity raffle has been drawn, and results are in.

This month’s recipient is the Shepparton South Community Centre, which provides support, education and community services to those living in Shepparton.

From friendly craft sessions to English language classes, resume building classes and training opportunities, the centre’s packed calendar is all about building connection and supporting those that need it most to go on and be successful in Shepparton.

“We run programs and activities to cater to the diverse needs of the community,” SSCC member Melanie Domaschenz said.

But it’s not just programs the centre runs, it also creates important community connection and a feeling of belonging for many.

“The money we were provided will help us expand the programs and activities we currently run, and help us grow that community connection,” Ms Domaschenz said.

That list of programs is already long.

The centre offers crash courses on technology, devices and the worldwide web.

It can connect you with services to help you get first aid training, or your white card.

Need access to the internet, computers, photocopying and printing or just a quiet room to sit and rest?

The SSCC has got you covered. Best of all, it is wheelchair accessible, and easy to get to, being close to a bus loop.

The money raised, a total of $3235, will help ensure these programs can continue to run, and open doors for expansions.

“We’re truly grateful to be the recipients,” Ms Domaschenz said of the raffle.

The Shepparton Club’s charity raffles take place on the third Friday of every month.

The next raffle is due to be drawn on Friday, September 20. If you’d like to book a table, contact the club on 0358 314 488
