Duke: The dog who barks big but loves bigger!

Duke’s loud and frequent barks of confidence would have you believe he has more than a couple of tricks up his sleeve.

But it would appear he talks a lot of talk without walking a lot of walks.

Our family of six, two adults and four kids, got him eight years ago when he was a puppy.

We also found out that he shares the same birthday as my mum and Jasper, our other dog, on December 3.

So, perhaps this is why he has to bark loudly — to stand out from the crowd, given he even has to share his birthday with his human mum and dog sibling.

One day we let Duke and Jasper off their leads, and they wondered around our farm, but then they sprinted over to our forest — it took hours to find them.

They ended up playing with other dogs through the fence.

Duke is very scared of storms because of an incident in 2018.

He is also very dependent on Jasper, he won’t go somewhere if Jasper doesn’t.
