Forget trawling the depths of the internet for cheap imitations because you can paint your very own version of local artist Tank’s Complexity of Being at his Art & Ale night at the Shepparton Brewery.
The event, which starts at 6pm on Tuesday, September 5, comes after a recent controversy where the artwork was pirated and sold on websites.
After a community-led campaign to get it removed, Tank is offering the public a way to experience his art in an authentic and communal setting.
“I received (support) locally and nationally to get it (the artwork) removed,” he said.
“I’ve decided to celebrate the win by helping everyone paint their very own version of it at my next Art & Ale night at the brewery.”
Tank said the public’s reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.
“The support I received from the media and friends around Australia and especially from the local district to get it removed was fantastic, and I thought the least I can do to say thanks is to include the artwork in my next art class,” he said.
Participants will have everything they need to create their rendition of Complexity of Being.
The event package includes painting supplies, as well as drinks and a spread of food courtesy of the Shepparton Brewery.
“It’s always a super fun night, so I encourage people to join in for a great night out,” Tank said.
