Industrial action to cause V/Line delays

Expect delays: Planned industrial action will lead to significant delays on Wednesday.

Due to planned industrial action, there will be significant disruptions to V/Line train services on Wednesday, December 13.

V/Line employees, who are part of the Rail Tram and Bus Union, will take part in protected industrial action, resulting in a work stoppage between 3am and 7am.

This will cause significant delays to V/Line services across Victoria.

There will be no trains running within two hours of the work stoppage and significant delays are expected either side of the stoppage as trains get back into position for the normal timetable.

V/Line said some “essential journeys” may have coach replacements during the stoppage.

Passengers travelling on Wednesday should expect delays and are encouraged to reschedule travel if possible.

Motorists travelling to and from Melbourne and regional hubs should expect increased traffic and delays.

Real-time traffic conditions are available at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au and the latest public transport information is available at ptv.vic.gov.au, the PTV mobile app or on the V/Line website or mobile app.

The Department of Transport and Planning thanks passengers for their understanding during this time.
