Shepparton’s McIntosh Centre will transform into a brick-filled paradise this Saturday and Sunday, as the city welcomes an exclusive Lego exhibition.
Organised by Playwell Events, the exhibition promises a visual treat for Lego enthusiasts and a trip down memory lane for all ages.
Playwell Events owner Graham Draper has showcased his exhibition around NSW for the past 18 months.
However, Shepparton holds the unique distinction of hosting his first exhibition in Victoria.
“Lego is very popular, but I always think that Lego is a very unique toy,” Mr Draper said.
“There’s a lot of nostalgia for all ages. I’ve had 80-year-olds come up to me and say they remember playing with Lego when they were kids.”
As the doors open, visitors will be greeted by more than 40 tables hosting more than 100 individual Lego displays.
From structures created with a staggering 50,000 bricks to smaller, equally captivating models, there’s something for every Lego fan.
Mr Draper said one of the most popular attractions was a Lego mosaic that unveiled two different pictures when viewed from alternate sides.
“A lot of kids enjoy running to either side as it changes,” he said.
Additionally, the young (and young-at-heart) can channel their creativity in a designated space where they can build their very own Lego masterpieces.
There will also be stalls where Lego sets, and individual pieces, will be sold, ensuring attendees can take a reminder of the exhibition home.
“I think (the exhibition) is something different and it’s not something people come across every day,” Mr Draper said.
