If you’re looking for some melody and harmony to fill your September days, Shepp Sings! has the perfect opportunity for you.
The group will be performing its annual concert later this month.
“We will be singing a range of well-known songs at the spring concert, including Ghost Riders in the Sky, which features the men, and Angels by Robbie Williams, which features a solo by our divine seven-year-old Lucas,” musical director Clifton Boschetti said.
“We will also have a few special items, including Bill Scott performing a euphonium solo.
“We are really blessed to have two proficient accompanists, Ms Lindy Tennant and Mr Graeme Brewer.”
Shepp Sings! is a local community choir that has grown to having more than 40 current members.
The group includes members in their 20s and others in their 80s, from bass to soprano, with its youngest member being Lucas, who is seven years old.
The main focus for Shepp Sings! is community and connection, and the group has recently performed at a number of events as well as at retirement homes.
This year they entertained people at Ave Maria and Menarock retirement homes, as well as participating in the SheppARTon Festival's Big Sing, and singing at the Mooroopna Library as part of an author talk.
Members are from Shepparton, Congupna, Grahamvale, Lemnos, Shepparton East, Mooroopna, Dookie, Tatura, Kialla, Katandra West and Kyabram.
The singing group is always welcoming new people to the group, with no auditions required.
The Shepp Sings! spring concert will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 14 at the Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre.
Entry is by a gold coin donation and afternoon tea will be provided.
