Last week, Umoja Empowerment Group were preparing for their final performance for their English through Music program, which took place on Saturday, February 3.
The night consisted of singing, dancing and a performance of Little Red Riding Hood.
The News went down to speak to some of the students about their roles in the concert and what they’ve enjoyed the most from the six-month program.

I’m playing the Big Bad Wolf.
I enjoy the things we learn and do, and I enjoy sometimes being the lead singer because I like singing.

I’m singing and playing the Grandma.
I’m enjoying it by learning new things and learning how to sing more, and I like it when we can sing and share our thoughts.

I’m playing drums and reading the part of Narrator.
I’ve enjoyed practising my skills as a drummer, singing and having fun.
