Last week, the News joined the Mooroopna Cross-stitching Retreat to ask the attendees about their beginnings in the craft. Here’s what they had to say.
Helen Mathieson
My mother cross-stitched, so I’ve been doing it since seven or eight years old. A long time ago.
Laura Bradbury
Well, Granny taught me when I was really little, but I didn’t really get into it until Mum bought an op shop kit and I really enjoyed it. It was in 2016, so about seven years ago.
Hannah Scollard
My friend Juniper got me into it when she gave me a kit back in university. I really enjoy crafts.
Karen Couch
I used to do it many years ago, but with children you get busy. I think it’s been five or six years since I got back into it. I like to craft and it passes the time quite well.
Michelle Fleming
I learnt at school in Year 6, and I loved it — I’ve been doing it ever since.
