Summer is two weeks away and Christmas is coming up too, so The News went to a local school to see what the kids were most excited about.
Students from Mooroopna Primary School from Prep to Year 2 sat down to talk all things summer, Christmas and holidays.
Here’s what they had to say.
Year 1 student Imogen Reid
I like to go to the pool when it’s really hot. I like playing games in the pool and going under the water. We play Marco Polo and Mermaids. I go to the pool with sometimes my friends but I also go with my family. I also like to do water fights when it’s really, really hot. I usually win. At Christmas, we take family photos, and me and my mum have matching T-shirts. For Christmas this year, I want a Barbie doll.
Prep student Rhyder Sutton
I like to do backflips in the pool and even go to water slides and water guns. I go to Aquamoves, but I’ve only been once — I want to go this year. I like to jump in the pool. On the holidays, I’ll jump on my bed and do cartwheels with no hands and no feet and no head. I like to play Roblox and stay indoors too, I have a TV in my room.
Prep student Amelia Foley-Meddings
I go to the pool in town because we don’t have our own pool. I like going to the splash park and the river rapids. Sometimes I also go to a river where I like to swim because it’s pretty close. I like going with my friends, and sometimes my nan and pa come. I like to jump off logs into the water when I go to the river.
Year 2 student Vaan McPherson
We like to go to the pool in the summertime, and sometimes my mum lets me use the hose. We go to pools, but also my nan has a pool. I like doing laps in the pool. I also like just going out and doing things, like my twin sister and I go camping sometimes. This year for Christmas, I want a new bike because my old bike is rusty. I like riding my bike to school.
Prep student Kai Dryden
When it’s really warm I like to run and go to Aquamoves. I also go to basketball but it’s still pretty warm in there. Christmas is the best part of summer because I get to open presents. I want my presents to be a phone and an Xbox. I spend Christmas with my mummy and my daddy. My mummy and I do running races, but I always win.
