A month of free live music begins on Wednesday, February 2, with the first instalment of RiverLinked Live’s third season.

Online performances will take place every Wednesday at 7.30pm, showcasing artists from the region in the series of online concerts designed to be enjoyed from home.

Ryan Gay, Stevie Renee and Carole McGregor will open the four-part season with an hour-long live-stream.

Hailing from central Victoria, Ryan Gay will take the stage first — he’s a singer-songwriter with a “sincere yet soulful” vocal style, who has a fondness for interesting and unique rhythms.

Gay’s sound has been described as a mix of indie and pop with a splash of RnB.

The second act of the evening, Stevie Renee, is a local to Shepparton.

She is a singer-songwriter with an impressive vocal ability and an amazing ear for harmony and pitch.

For the better part of two decades, Renee has performed with artists from all over the Goulburn Valley.

The closing act for RiverLinked Live’s first show of 2022 is Carole McGregor, a Shepparton string player who enjoys experimenting with looping and effects.

McGregor plays classical viola in the GV Concert Orchestra, as well as at weddings and other gigs.

Riverlinks Venues manager Ken Cameron said the team was excited to be bringing RiverLinked Live back for a third season.

“It’s great that there has been a demand for another RiverLinked Live season,” he said.

“This season will bring some of the best and brightest young, local musicians to the stage.

“They will perform an array of original songs, as well as an occasional cover.”

During the course of the month, artists such as Tom Harrington, Ree Peric, Madi Colville-Walker, Bricky B and others will take to the virtual stage as part of the concert series.

“It’s fantastic that so many artists across the Goulburn Valley have come together to provide virtual live entertainment,” Mr Cameron said.

The season is presented by Greater Shepparton City Council with support from Creative Victoria.

RiverLinked Live performs every Wednesday at 7.30pm, from February 2 until February 23.
