School holidays are fast approaching, so The News has compiled a list of events and activities happening around town to keep the whole family entertained. Have a read and see what piques your interest.

Saturday, June 29

ARGH! Dinosaurs!

Step back in time to when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth, as Dino’s have arrived at Kyabram Fauna Park. There are 15 real-life animatronic roaring and moving dinosaurs, plus an adventurous dinosaur trail for those who dare.

Ages: All ages

Time: 10am – 5pm daily until Sunday, July 14

Cost: $30 general admission (kids are free under 16 during school holidays and weekends)

Sunday, June 30

Up for some balloon fun?

Come down to the balloon party to play with balloons, create balloon animals, play games of keepy-uppy, and much more.

Ages: All ages

Time: 10am – 3pm

Cost: Free

Location: MEAC – Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre

Mini Mart Art Fair

Get your creative flair on at the art fair. It will be a full day of creative workshops, talks and over 20 stalls featuring local visual artists and storytellers.

This one is for the poets of Shepparton.

If you have a way with words, come to the Poetry Slam (open mic) and show off your talents. Or, if you want to hear some good old poetry, come down and have a listen. This is part of the Mini Mart art fair.

Big book sale

Calling all book lovers, the Book Inn is hosting a massive book sale across the school holidays. Get ready for sales, such as four books for $2! There is a huge variety of books available.

Nature Scavenger Hunt

Become an explorer for the day and find some treasure! If you want to find out what the treasure will be, you’ll have to come on down and join in on the nature scavenger hunt.

Hear the enchanting melodies of the Rubab

The Shepparton Library is hosting ‘The Tune of Rubab’ show, with a performance by Master Hussain Shirzad and tabla by Habilbullah Sa’dat. Let your ears take you on a journey through the beauty of Afghan folk songs.

ShepparCon 2024

Are you a fan of board games? If yes, then you’ll love ShepparCon. It’s a weekend-long board gaming event full of … you guessed it … board games! Plus meeting people, playing new games and having fun.

Ages: All ages (but anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a guardian)

Time: Friday 12pm-midnight and Saturday 9am to midnight, and Sunday 9am to 6pm

Cost: $50 per adult and $10 for kids under 15

Is that Emma Memma I see?

Inviting Aussie families to sing, dance, and celebrate in their favourite colours: orange, pink, and green.

Emma Memma is coming to Shepparton on her big, bright, orange butterfly bus, bringing the Boop and Twirl tour to all Aussie families.

Join Emma Memma and her friends, Elvin Melvin, BB Butterfly, Waffles the Wombat, and Memma Mates, for singing and dancing.

Make sure to wear Emma Memma and Elvin Melvin’s favourite colours: orange, pink and green!

Teeyan Shepparton Deeyan

Women only swimming

Aquamoves has partnered with VicHealth in their ‘This Girl Can—Victoria’ campaign by hosting women-only swimming sessions. Come down and enjoy a swim in the indoor 25m leisure and hydrotherapy pools, or relax in the sauna and spas in the company of other women.

Make some noise!

The Listies are coming to Shepparton with their show, Make Some Noise.
