As Euroa stands on the cusp of a new chapter in health care, GV Health is calling for the community to help write its next title.
From July 1, Euroa’s acute care services, including hospital-based care, urgent care and medical imaging, will be integrated under the GV Health umbrella.
All other services, including GraniteHill Aged Care, will continue to operate under Euroa Health.
With this upcoming transition, GV Health is seeking the opinion of Euroa residents on naming the local acute care campus.
The Euroa Interim Community Reference Group, comprised of community representatives and members of Euroa Health, has put forward two options for public consideration: Euroa Hospital and Euroa Community Hospital.
These names were chosen for their strong connection to the community, highlighting both the location and the wide range of services offered.
“We understand the significance of a name in retaining a strong connection with the community and the region and in recognising the hospital’s long history here in Euroa,” GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said.
“Maintaining this identity is very important, and we are seeking to ensure this continues into the future.
“As we continue to evolve and expand our services, we recognise the importance of involving the community in the decision-making processes.”
Community members are invited to select their favoured naming option and provide further feedback either online or in person at the Euroa Health Acute Services reception on Weir St, Euroa.
Feedback will be collected until Wednesday, May 15, with all contributions to be considered before the final decision is made, expected to occur by the end of May.
