Save the date! Greater Shepparton Youth Fest is returning on Sunday, September 29, and promises to be a fun-filled day.
Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with the Victorian Government and FReezA, has organised a BMX, skate and scooter competition, which will be judged by international judge Renton Millar.
There will even be an art workshop for the crafty ones. What isn’t to love about this?
The day will begin at 10am with the Deadly Deks Art Workshop, where participants can try their hand at painting skateboard decks with First Nations designs.
Guided by artist Tammy Lee Atkinson, this workshop represents a unique opportunity to explore your artistic side. All materials will be provided, and while registrations can be made on the day, spots are limited, so secure your spot now by emailing youth@shepparton.vic.gov.au
Following the art workshop, the BMX, skate and scooter competition, which features categories for under-13s and over-13s, is organised as follows:
- Scooters starting at 11am
- BMX at 12:30pm
- Skating at 1:30pm
You can compete for first-, second- or third-place medals. Registration is available on the day, but spots are limited. Secure your spot at: youth@shepparton.vic.gov.au
“The festival will include art workshops, social activities, sports and mindfulness sessions, ensuring there is something for everyone,” City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said.
“The festival aims to showcase the talents and creativity of young people in our community, while also providing a platform for them to express themselves and connect with their peers.”
These events are fully supervised and are committed to being drug-, vape-, alcohol- and smoking-free, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
