Lights, camera, action: Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra will take centre stage this month at Westside.

Riverlinks is set to host Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra’s annual concert this month.

Titled ‘Local Luminaries’, the concert will see the orchestra nurture new collaborations, and will shine a light on some of the wonderful local artists within the Greater Shepparton community.

Scheduled for Saturday, June 17, from 2pm to 3.30pm, at Westside in Mooroopna, the concert will create a multimedia experience suitable for all ages.

Audiences can look forward to a blend of musical styles, featuring newly commissioned works by local composers and arrangers, alongside beloved classics.

“The collaboration between Riverlinks and Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra allows us to provide excellent and enjoyable music to the whole community while highlighting the incredible wealth of talent we have right here in our own backyard,” Riverlinks venue manager Ken Cameron said.

“This annual concert truly celebrates the local luminaries in our community.”

Under the guidance of music director Steven Sargant, the Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra has dedicated months of weekly rehearsal to prepare for this performance.

The orchestra will showcase a diverse repertoire, ranging from the symphonic mastery of Dmitri Shostakovich to the cinematic excellence of Ennio Morricone and Erich Korngold, and will finish with the master of American popular melody, George Gershwin.

Tickets to the performance are available in person, online or through the Riverlinks box office on 5832 9511.
