As with all television shows that return for another season, Snackmasters is describing its second season as ‘bigger and better than ever’.
Unlike the many, many cooking shows that take over television networks during the year, Snackmasters sets itself apart with a mystery: What are the secret ingredients and recipes behind some of Australia’s most favourite snacks?
If that doesn’t tickle viewers’ taste buds with intrigue, then maybe the chance to watch some of TV’s most likeable faces will, with hosts Poh Ling Yeow, Scott Pickett and Yvie Jones.
Each episode will feature two highly skilled chefs battling it out in a spicy knockout competition to make the best replica of a classic Aussie snack.
If the pressure cooker wasn’t turned up enough, the eight competitors are cooking in front of their hosts, Poh and Scott.
Last chef standing wins the title of Ultimate Snackmaster Champion and, of course, the validation that they can handle the heat and should not get out of the kitchen.
Season one saw the likes of the cheese Twistie, the Drumstick and Hungry Jack’s Angry Whopper, including a backstage pass into the factories with Yvie.
Producers have spilt the beans on a couple of snacks to look forward to in the new season including Arnott’s Tim Tam, Four'N Twenty classic meat pie and Domino's pepperoni pizza.
This is definitely not one to watch hungry, so before Snackmasters begins plate up your dinner, reach for a snack or pick your poison (just don’t really eat poison).
Snackmasters Season 2 begins Sunday, December 4 at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
