A Taylor Swift-themed event will be coming to Shepparton as part of the Victorian Government’s Youth Fest grants.

Victorian Youth Minister Natalie Suleyman announced almost $200,000 in grants for 110 recipients to host youth-led events during Youth Fest this September.

“With these grants we’re providing opportunities for young Victorians in our regions to showcase their unique ideas, talents and skills through youth-led events and activities,” Ms Suleyman said.

Almost half of this year’s events will take place in regional and rural areas, with a wide range of activities and events being supported.

Greater Shepparton will host a Taylor Swift trivia night, a pop-up cinema will head to East Gippsland and GeekCon will be held in Wangaratta as part of the month-long festival.

Events will be taking place across the state, with Cowes, Swan Hill and Bendigo all set to host their own events and more.

Youth Fest will be held in September, with the government’s investment supporting young people to organise events, showcase skills, share ideas, build social connections and expand networks.

More than 400 Youth Fest events have been funded in the past four years.
