Families got a chance to get up close and personal with the workers who keep us safe.

First responders gathered at Victoria Lake on Sunday, November 10 for the Emergency Services Family Day.

People met first responders from Fire Rescue Victoria, CFA, Victoria Police, Safe Transport Victoria, SES, Victorian Fisheries Authority, Australian Federal Police and Ambulance Victoria.

The educational and fun day saw kids get up close with the vehicles, explore fire trucks and ambulances, and test out some equipment.

There was also live demonstrations and face painting for kids.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit headed down on the day to capture the fun.
