Victoria Park Lake embraced a sea of pink and teal for a cause close to many people’s hearts.
Over 300 people gathered at Victoria Park Lake on Sunday, May 12, for the 12th annual Shepparton Mother’s Day Classic.
The event saw participants run, walk and paddle 2km, 4km and 8km distances to raise funds for breast cancer research and, for the first time, ovarian cancer research.
Event co-ordinator Kathy Fuller said the day was “absolutely magical,” and the key was that participants always had fun.
“It was a beautiful morning. It’s always good fun to see people dressed up,” she said.
“I think because we’ve been fundraising for breast and ovarian cancer, it’s really brought another unique side to the event.
“Having those colours here today was beautiful. From now on, it’s pink and teal.”
Ms Fuller said the event was lots of fun, and it was fantastic to see such a great turnout.
“It just means a lot to the team,” she said.
“It’s always great that our community supports the event, and supports each other.”
News photographer Rechelle Zammit went along to capture attendees decked out in pink and teal.
