Students and staff at Gowrie St Primary School in Shepparton came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week last week, with games, crafts and a special assembly.
NAIDOC Week is an annual celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.
This year, it was celebrated Sunday to Sunday, from July 7 to July 14.
The school’s celebrations were held Friday, July 26, but missing the official dates didn’t faze the students, who dived head first into a packed day of activities and learning.
Activities included craft activities, Indigenous games and an assembly featuring dance performances and Dreamtime plays.
