On Monday, August 5, students at Orrvale Primary School were getting fired up for a new art adventure.

The Year 5 and 6 students created ‘bobble-head’ pets from clay, taking inspiration from their pets at home and modelling them after their colours and markings.

A squad of animals slowly took shape, including a fox, pig, owl and penguins, as well as a spotted cat and stripey dog.

Some students completed their sculptures with top hats, monocles and sunglasses, for a bit of extra fun.

News photographer Megan Fisher snapped pics of the students with their creations.
