Australian Governor-General David Hurley was in Shepparton on Tuesday to see the devastation of last week’s floods and to recognise the work of emergency services and volunteers.

However, it was the Governor-General’s wife, Linda, who stole the show, leading more than 50 attendees in a stirring rendition of You Are My Sunshine, with volunteers, community leaders and more singing arm in arm.

Mr Hurley told the crowd the Greater Shepparton and Goulburn Valley community had put in a power of work and had banded together in tough times.
