Thank god for pancakes at St Mel’s

Shrove Tuesday is a special day at St Mel’s Primary School in Shepparton.

Each year, to mark the start of Lent, the school comes together to raise money for charity, spend time together, and eat lots and lots and lots of pancakes.

The school raised money for Caritas’s Project Compassion campaign, which brings together thousands of schools and parishes across Australia to raise money for people living in vulnerable communities worldwide.

News photographer Megan Fisher, lured by the smell of maple syrup, made her way there on Tuesday.
