St Brendan’s Primary School Year 6 students Lily Uluakiahoia and Kobby Eshun will finish their primary years this December and take their next steps towards high school.

Lily, who will attend Notre Dame College, was excited for the next step in her schooling journey.

“I am excited to meet new people and try new classes,” Lily said.

“I have been thinking a lot lately about what I want to be when I get older, and I would love to be an actress.

“So, hopefully, I can get involved in drama classes.”

Kobby, who has been a part of the school’s leadership technology team this year, said that’s what he would miss the most.

“I have enjoyed being in the leadership team as I love technology,” Kobby said.

“I have been able to hang out with my friends, research different tech topics, and help with things like laptop safety for the Preps.

“It’s been heaps of fun.”

Lily has also been a part of the school’s leadership team and has enjoyed inspiring other children to have fun while keeping active under the health and wellbeing banner.

“I love netball, and keeping active is important,” she said.

“I have enjoyed being a part of the team and helping with sports and encouraging other students.

“And having extra responsibilities and helping the teachers.”

Both students agreed that the teachers were high on the list of what they would miss the most.

“The teachers here are great,” Kobby said.

“I will miss them and the school environment.

“But I am excited to meet new teachers and make new friends to.”

For now, the students still have a few weeks left to complete their final term, but to end their year, they will enjoy a church ceremony and mass.

“And I think we are having a retreat day where we can say goodbye to our friends and teachers.” Kobby said.

“I hope so, that sounds fun.” Lily said.
