Gus Underwood
Gus started a cadetship with the Kyabram Free Press in 1961 as a 17-year-old and has spent all his working days as a journalist with the paper which he still contributes to along with other McPherson Media publications.
He spent 24 years as editor of the Free Press and has enjoyed every minute of bringing local stories to the readers.
It’s the ‘local rag’ and he believes the more local content the better it is received which is what Gus likes to bring to the readers.
Gus likes to think he has a good sense of humour which he often includes in his writings at times.
But he did get a bit of flak when he once described a confusing situation as similar to Father’s Day in Rushworth!
