Rochester suffered a heartbreaking two-point defeat to Benalla in round eight, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying on the part of Joe Atley, whose name continues to swirl around in discussions for the Morrison Medal with the Tigers talisman once again putting in a big shift.
The Rochester midfielder did everything he could for his side, collecting a league-high 22 contested possessions in a bullish performance. The midfielder’s best return came in an 11-disposal second quarter.
