The word prolific was synonymous with the name Sam at Victoria Park on Saturday.

Echuca’s Sam Willoughby and Sam Reid each starred in the 101-point rout of Shepparton United.

Willoughby racked up a game-high 30 disposals, 14 of which were contested, to go with 11 clearances, which was again the best of any player on the ground.

The midfielder made sure his possessions had maximum impact, using the ball at an exceptional 83 per cent while also pushing the ball inside 50 nine times.

His presence was felt on the scoreboard, slotting a major while also registering 14 score involvements, another game-high, en route to 178 ranking points, the third highest total across the league in round seven.

Echuca co-coach Reid was also in scintillating form, kicking six of the Murray Bombers’ 22 goals off his own boot.

The former AFL player was involved in everything, notching up 10 contested possessions from his 22 disposals, which went at 81 per cent efficiency, as well as three clearances and six marks.

Reid was involved in 12 scoring chains, pumping the ball into the attacking 50 on four occasions, while also grabbing four of his six marks inside the arc.

He accumulated the second highest total ranking points for the Murray Bombers behind Willoughby, with his 134 points the ninth highest league-wide.

The reigning premier also dominated the team statistics, as would be expected in such a big win, winning the disposals (plus 102), contested possessions (plus 43), clearances (plus four), uncontested marks (plus 26) and inside-50s (plus 33).
