The Swans entered the clash as warm favourites thanks to a hot streak of form in the past month.

The visitors have impressed in 2022 with their sizzling run, carry and ball movement.

But Tatura was able to stem the Swans' exciting style of play in the round 16 contest.

And it's the score sources that are the most telling area.

The Bulldogs scored a whopping 13.3 (81) from turnovers, with the remaining 2.5 (17) coming from stoppages.

The Swans were their own worst enemy and went at 53.5 per cent disposal efficiency by foot in the first half.

Shepparton Swans average 58 per cent by foot this season and finished on 59 for the match.

In comparison, Tatura went at 65 per cent in the second term, followed by 76 per cent in the third quarter.

In the dazzling second term — where Tatura booted seven goals to two — the home side was able to collect six intercept marks and record 16 inside 50s.

With a four-goal buffer at the main break, the Bulldogs were able to own possession through kicks and marks in the third term.

Tatura held on to 16 more marks and had 12 more kicks than the Swans in an effort to keep the ball out the hands of its fast-moving opponents.
