A second-year Rochester star and a swathe of Kyabram's experienced heads posted big numbers in round eight of the Goulburn Valley League season.

Mitch Cricelli has been nothing short of a force for the club in his 28 games for Rochester, booting 44 goals in his first season before taking up the mantle as ruck in a full-time capacity this year.

And once again, Cricelli was important for the Tigers despite a two-point defeat to Benalla, gathering 16 contested possessions but also a league-high 48 hit-outs.

Jack McHale (Echuca): 26 disposals, 15 contested possessions, six marks.

Meanwhile, Kyabram made the trip over to Deakin Reserve to tackle Shepparton United, walking away with a 98-point win.

Lachlan Smith set the game alight, reeling in a massive 18 marks — including 11 intercept marks — to repel everything the Demons sent his way.

Brad Mangan led the goal-kicking with six, while Tom Holman’s four combined with 11 marks and 20 disposals made him a standout.

Ruckman Zac Norris also featured in the top performers once again, continuing his excellent season as the Bombers continue their charge to finals.
