Looking at the statistics, it is clear Mooroopna was on top from the get-go, with a dominant first term the catalyst for the victory.

In the first stanza the Cats were all over the Tigers, leading the disposal count by 31 and the contested possessions by seven.

These statistics, coupled with the Cats’ 71 per cent kicking efficiency helped them lead the inside-50 count by five at the first break

While the Cats led by 37 points at quarter time, if the visitors converted their chances things would have been very different.

Rochester scored 75 per cent of the time it entered the forward 50 in the first term, however with all of these scoring shots behinds and a kicking accuracy of 32 per cent, the impact on the scoreboard was minimal.

In the second and third quarters the contest tightened up.

Rochester improved its kicking efficiency to 53 per cent in the second and 62 per cent in the third.

The scoreboard impact in these quarters was minimal for both sides.

In the third, both sides struggled to convert their inside-50 opportunities with the Cats scoring from a measly 18 per cent of their forward entries and Rochester 17 per cent.

During the last quarter both sides had positives, however the Cats were hungrier around the contest.

Mooroopna won nine more contested possessions, picked up 11 more ground ball gets and converted 71 per cent of its inside-50s into scores to find six majors and run away with the win.
