New truck wash for Euroa Saleyards

Miepol Pty Ltd has won a tender for the construction of a new truck wash at Euroa Saleyards.

Strathbogie Shire Council is set to start the construction of a new state-of-the-art truck wash at the Euroa Saleyards this month.

This development follows a thorough search for a suitable tenderer over the past few years.

The project, valued at $642,000, was awarded at the May council meeting to Miepol Pty Ltd, a company based in Geelong.

Ccouncil undertook four competitive tenders for the truck wash project, refining the design each time to align with the approved council budget.

Administrator Peter Stephenson acknowledged the concerted efforts of council officers and the Euroa Saleyard Committee in making this double-bay truck wash a reality.

“This truck wash will have so many benefits for our truck owners, so I am pleased to see it under construction,” Mr Stephenson said.

The new truck wash will feature a drive-through double bay, catering to B-double trucks.

The improved truck wash addresses modern necessities and is anticipated to benefit the stock carrying community and local truck owners.

It is also expected to attract more livestock carriers to Euroa, who need to wash down their trucks to meet biodiversity requirements.

Users of the facilities are recommended to access the facilities from Graham St, Sutherland St and Euroa-Shepparton Rd to avoid the construction area, with users advised to consider potential delays when accessing the saleyards via Boundary Rd North.

Contractors will limit restrictions on sale days and the day preceding sale day to try and limit the disruption at these times.
