A search is under way for a man missing overnight in bushland in the NSW Hunter Valley.
Police say Michael Chalmers, 41, was last seen at Polblue Creek on Tubrabucca Rd at Moonan Brook, 65km east of Scone, about 2pm on Saturday.
He was fishing at the time with a companion but they became separated.
When he was unable to be found, local officers were notified and began searching.
Police say they hold concerns for Mr Chalmers' welfare and have dispatched the force's dog unit, PolAir and Police Rescue as well as called for assistance from State Emergency Services volunteers.
Located in subalpine woodland, Polblue Creek is a popular spot for trout fishing and runs through the World Heritage-listed Barrington Tops.
Mr Chalmers is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 185cm tall and of large build.
He has brown hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing black joggers, blue pants, a dark coloured t-shirt and black hat with the letters BTS in red on the front.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts or who has dashcam vision from the area is urged to contact police.
