A family is reeling from the devastating loss of a mother who disappeared months ago after police found her car and remains.
Tayla Spies, 29, vanished in early February after leaving a rural hotel west of Brisbane, sparking a widespread search for the Roma mother of three.
Police on Friday found Ms Spies' ute at an outback property and human remains were discovered a kilometre from the vehicle.
Ms Spies' sister confirmed the death of the beloved mother with the family now navigating the "excruciating loss", in a Facebook post late on Sunday.
"It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the devastating loss of our beautiful Tayla," Rebecca Spies said.
"Although she may no longer be here with us, she will always be in our hearts and I will carry her with me wherever I go."
She thanked the community who helped with the extensive search for Ms Spies over the past 63 days.
"We truly will be forever grateful to our family and friends for surrounding us, supporting us, picking us up when we fell down and for never letting us walk one step of this alone," she said.
"Tayla was and always will be so incredibly loved, more than she would ever know."
Ms Spies was last seen on February 2 when she was captured on CCTV driving her ute in Surat, west of Brisbane.
She had earlier been seen leaving a Dalby hotel before travelling west towards Surat, with CCTV showing the mother wearing a pink shirt and buying fuel in Condamine.
Her disappearance sparked a widespread search spanning 9000 sq km, with her family pleading for information as emergency services scoured the remote region for a trace of the mother of three.
Her locked car with pink shirt inside was found deep within a Noorindoo property, about 40km from Surat, and her remains a kilometre away, with police also confirming on Monday the body was Ms Spies.
Officers had been called to the property on Friday afternoon after reports of a car matching Ms Spies' vehicle.
The property owner told police the car had not been there long.
The car is being examined by forensics officers and there will be a postmortem on the remains, police said, while appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
