A 72-year-old man has been charged with murder as police investigate the circumstances leading up to the death of a woman in far north Queensland.
Police will allege the 65-year-old was found with a wound to her abdomen after emergency services were called to an Atherton home at 8.30am on Sunday.Â
She died at the scene and a crime scene was declared.
The accused man will face Mareeba Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with the domestic violence related offence.
Police are expected to provide further details about the murder on Monday.
