Olympic rowing silver medallist Simon Burgess is expected to be sentenced after pleading guilty to breaching family violence orders and hitting a woman.
Burgess represented Australia at three Olympics, including the Athens Games in 2004 when he captained the men's rowing team.
He won silver at the event, as well as at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, and competed in 10 world rowing championships between 1990 and 2003.
Burgess pleaded guilty in January to three counts of breaching a family violence order and damaging property.
He is expected to appear in Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon for sentencing.
Burgess, who has been on bail throughout the court proceedings, will also be sentenced after pleading guilty to an assault in the southern Tasmanian township of Franklin in December 2023.
According to court documents, Burgess slapped a woman's head multiple times and punched a hole in a bedroom plaster wall.
