A slogan has already been finalised for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics as organisers mark eight years to go.

The 2032 board director and former sprint star Patrick Johnson says lessons learned from the next two Olympics will earn Brisbane the much sought after tagline: "best Games ever".

Brisbane delegates on Tuesday kick-started the eight year countdown to the 2032 Games, confirming its motto: "Shine Brightest, Together".

Work is also being completed on their brand strategy challenge, with organisers the first to admit Brisbane is not well known globally.

Brisbane 2032 boss Andrew Liveris will deliver an official progress report to the International Olympic Committee in Paris on Tuesday.

Two-time Olympian Johnson said Brisbane delegates would benefit from a fact finding mission at the Paris Games, with another planned for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"(At) Paris, LA we have got some real lessons to learn. We are going to deliver the best Games ever in Olympic history," he told AAP.

Fellow Brisbane organising committee board director Brett Clark said security and ticketing would be among the 2032 delegates' focus in Paris.

"Paris has got some big challenges. I think they are going to pull it off," he said.

Brisbane's brand design for 2032 may be a challenge but was "pretty much set" and being tested in the market, Clark said.

Organisers have admitted from the outset that Brisbane was not well known globally.

"It is a challenge but we are confident. We have engaged with over 3000 people around what the brand represents," Mr Clark said.

"I think the community will be excited with what we are coming up with."

In the meantime Brisbane 2032 has billboards and its own cafe in Paris during the 2024 Games in a bid to turn heads.

Then there's Brisbane's infrastructure.

The Queensland government has been criticised for disregarding an independent review's key recommendations and instead opting to upgrade ageing facilities for 2032.

From 2025, the infrastructure plan and delivery will be handed over to an independent body which was recently installed through legislation

However, those plans may be shelved with a potential change of government at October's state election.

The opposition has promised to undertake its own 100-day Brisbane infrastructure review if it emerges triumphant, potentially delaying 2032 plans.

But Johnson is confident "cool heads will prevail".

"It (government change) might look like a setback but I think it is an opportunity to continue do the work," he said.

"If there is a change of government we still have to deliver a Games, we have to work together.

"Cool heads will prevail. I know we will be part of something that is unique and special."
