A woman has died outside an apartment building where it is believed she fell from a balcony, with a man police say is her partner under arrest after investigators spoke to residents at the unit block.
The woman, believed to be aged 39, was found critically injured outside a high-rise unit block on River Rd at Parramatta in Sydney's west about 1.40am on Thursday.
She is yet to be formally identified.

Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene after unsuccessful attempts to revive her.
Investigators have spoken to a number of people and have been told the woman fell from the balcony of a unit on the seventh floor of the building.
Uniformed officers were also seen canvassing residents as they left and arrived at the apartment tower.

The circumstances surrounding her death are being examined, with detectives arresting a 40-year-old man, believed to be the woman's partner.
Head Parramatta detective Superintendent Barry Vincent is scheduled to address reporters this afternoon.Â
