Moira Shire Council has spent $1.61 million on seven projects since October 2021 —including an aircon installation at Numurkah Town Hall and the Barmah Punt upgrade.

The most expensive project was a contract in June 2022 for the renewed supply of eight light fleet vehicles for $344,270.

The second most expensive was the installation of airconditioners at the Cobram Sports Stadium for $231,902.

These seven projects were reported in the council meeting on August 24 as part of a transparency and accountability rule.

In October 2021, council adopted a new procurement policy which required any contracts awarded under delegation (aka approved by someone working under the CEO) between $150,001 and $350,000 to follow an advertised Request For Quote (RFQ) process.

These seven projects have been the guinea pigs for the new procurement policy.
