Theatre-goers are in for a treat with Shepparton Theatre Arts Group performing 12 Angry Jurors at the Bakehouse Black Box Theatre next month.
Written by Reginald Rose, the play was inspired by the 1957 film 12 Angry Men.
Set in New York, the play features 12 jurors tasked with determining the guilt or innocence of a young man accused of murder.
As they work through this life-or-death decision, each juror adds their own experience, bias and prejudice to the jury room.
The cast for 12 Angry Jurors includes STAG regulars John Head, Matt Dowling, Bella Walker and Laura Varapodio, alongside father and son duo Leigh and Dean Johnson.
Kelly Elder, Stephanie Romeo, Meaghan Thompson, Steve Condron and newcomers David Kerr, Luke Handley and Jacob Mullins complete the talented and diverse ensemble.
The play will be directed by STAG life member Troy McKindley, who is making his debut as a full-length play director.
Mr McKindley is excited to work with such a talented cast to bring the play to life.
12 Angry Jurors is a powerful and thought-provoking play that delves into the complexities of the legal system and human nature.
The play challenges its audience to question their own biases and preconceptions, and to consider the weight of responsibility that comes with serving on a jury.
