Every pet owner loves to show off their best fur-iend, but sometimes we get so lost in puppy love that we forget to admire the senior citizens of the pet world.

The News decided to fix that.

On Tuesday, August 8, we asked our readers to send in snaps of their senior dogs and cats to celebrate them as much as we do young pups.

Take a look at the powdered sugar-nosed friends from across the region.

Regal gentleman: 15-year-old rescue cat Sir Quincy Fluffybutt.
Almost an adult: Cody the Jack Russell is 17.
Cool as a cucumber: Mia, a 14-year-old English Staffy.
Best buddies: Cookie, a 10-year-old Maltese shih tzu and 10-year-old Maltese shih tzu cross Pomeranian Brownie.
Old but lively: Kitty is nearly 21.
Royalty: Princess Ivy, an 11-year-old border collie cross kelpie.
Paw-some: 11-year-old Labrador Squidgy.
Hot stuff: Chilli, who is soon to be 15.
Bulldozer: Marley the 13-year-old boxer cross bull Arab.
Brucey boy: Bruce, a 13-year-old mastiff cross bull Arab.
Almost a decade: Nine-year-old greyhound Gonzo.
Kitty girl: Empire, a 14-year-old house cat.
Golden hour: Ruby, a 13-year-old red kelpie.
Lady Townsend: Winnie Townsend, a 13-year-old American Staffy cross American bulldog.
Born to rule: Nero, a 16-year-old Russian blue cross.
Soaking in the sun: Angus, a 14-year-old rescue Staffy.
Shine bright: Tea cup chihuahua Sparkle, who is turning 17 this year.
