A man and his van: Trent Doyle.

Have you ever dreamed of packing up your most essential belongings, piling into a van and hitting the road with barely a care in the world?

Shepparton’s Trent Doyle is currently doing just that.

Mr Doyle, with his dog Heath in tow, is intent on meandering his way around the nation this year — and will do his best to report back to News readers on what he finds.

His partner, Rio Maghinay, will also join him on the adventure after Easter.

“I was a property valuer and it just wasn’t for me, so I was keen to try something new,” Mr Doyle said.

“But in the end I figured the best way to do something completely different was to pack up and hit the road.”

And while he does not have a specific plan of where he wants to be every day — or how long he wants to be there — Mr Doyle has a few key goals.

“I want to explore, work, have fun and put myself through some individual challenges along the way,” he said.

But the first challenge Mr Doyle faced was fitting out his van to meet his travelling requirements.

“I’d never done a project like fitting out a van for travel,” he said.

“It was really challenging and plenty went wrong in the early stages, but I think we’re on the right track now.

“My van builder and good mate Max, my partner Rio and sister Jemma really helped with the prep.”
