Musicians from near and far are set to perform at the G.R.A.I.N store’s ‘Songs UNBOUND II’ event this Friday.
The show will be a songwriters-in-the-round style concert, with artists to perform in the centre of the audience.
In between performances Erin Heycox, the event's host and half of the folk/country duo Broken Creek, will interview the musicians about the stories and inspirations behind their music.
Ms Heycox said the event will bring together a range of unique artists.
“I’m really excited about the lineup,” she said.
“We have five women from different places, ages, and genres—some are local legends, some are travelling interstate, and for a few, this will be their first time performing original songs at The G.R.A.I.N. Store.
“The audience will witness something truly magical that can’t be replicated.”
Among the performers is Echuca local Madi Colville-Walker, a Yorta Yorta woman who is no stranger to the stage.
Ms Colville-Walker comes from a musical family including the acclaimed Benny Walker and her grandfather, Yorta Yorta elder Archie Walker.
She debuted in 2017 at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and has since performed alongside greats such as Isaiah Firebrace, Dan Sultan and Fanny Lumsden.
From around the region, Michelle ‘Squish’ Davis from Numurkah will be sharing her solo works.
She is well known for her roles in the Numurkah Ukulele Club, the Numurkah Town Band and as a part of alternative band ‘The Murks’.
Cobram’s Matilda Altcoft will also make an appearance as the nights youngest performer.
Young Matilda has been writing songs since the age of 12 and is making waves while studying music as part of her VCE studies.
Hailing from Alice Springs, Emmy Ryan will share a blend of contemporary and traditional sounds while playing her mandolin.
The event will be held on Friday, February 14 with doors to open from 6.30pm.
Tickets are priced on a sliding scale between $10 and $40 and can be purchased online at www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1347536 or at the G.R.A.I.N store.
