A round of applause for Francis

Toc Tells

Members of our community would like to extend their thanks to Tocumwal’s Francis Baldwin.

Francis spent her Sunday afternoon last week using her own broom to sweep the main street gutters and footpath and clear the many cobwebs from the shopfronts and windows.

The 78 year-old chose to take this job on herself as she had noticed that the state of many parts of the footpath was disgraceful.

It took her four hours to do the work, which she said as well overdue.

Thank you, Franny. We are lucky to have you in our community.

The Tocumwal War Memorial Hall is hosting Shaun Parker and Company to perform Found Objects today.

This is a free community event that is funded by the NSW Government Reconnecting Regional NSW Events Program.

The performance is an epic dance-theatre work utilising everyday objects and five exceptional dance and physical theatre artists.

Choreographed by Shaun Parker and set to a stunning orchestral score by composer Nick Wales, the work creates a highly physical, extraordinary urban world incorporating high-octane contemporary dance, acrobatics, street dance, parkour, and seemingly ordinary objects.

After the performance, the dance crew will be doing a 30-minute hip hop interactive dance session where the youth get up and learn from the crew.

The event is an all-ages show suitable for kids and adults, and starts at the hall at 5.30pm.
