Floral corsages will be delivered to the ladies of Menarock Life - Moama Aged Care on Mother’s Day.
The event, now in its second year, was started by Debby Susigan after her mum relocated to the retirement village.
“I thought what we could do to contribute to make their day special,” she said.
Debby partnered up with Kerrie Dean from Moama Echuca Florist to ensure the women living at the aged care facility receive a gift.
Kerrie spoke of the importance of Mother’s Day and what it means to mums.
“This is the idea of creating fresh flowers for as many beautiful mums as we could, on their most beautiful day of the year,” she said.
Debby’s mum, Elaine Smith, who is a resident of Menarock Life, offered her thoughts on the duo’s kindness.
“I was amazed by the generosity from my daughter, Debby, and her friend Kerrie,” Elaine Smith said.
“It’s wonderful to see the ladies get a large gift on Mother’s Day.”
The staff of the retirement village also get involved with lifestyle co-ordinator Cindy McGrath lending a hand to give a positive boost to the residents.
“It’s a lovely gesture that Debby and Kerrie have come up with so that all the ladies feel included on the day,” she said.
“It just makes them feel special.
“It’s a wonderful sentiment.”
Debby, who has come to be good friends with Kerrie, spoke admiringly about Kerrie’s generosity towards the ladies at Menarock.
“Of course, being the community person she is, Kerrie came to the party and does these lovely little corsages, just for the mums,” Debby said.
