Skillzone Sports is hosting its first All Abilities Program at the Cobram Sports Stadium on Friday, July 28.
The one-hour program is for participants above the age of 13 and will feature activities such as basketball, soccer and dodgeball.
A light supper is also included.
There will be a five-to-one participant-to-staff ratio; however, families, friends and support workers are all welcome to join.
Skillzone company director Adam Gatcum said the program was designed to ensure that all members of the community could have fun.
“It’s a program for people with disabilities and it is giving them the opportunity to get involved in a structured sports program,” he said.
“We (Skillzone) employ a staff member who is living with a disability. It was a bit of a brainchild from our team, which believed that it was an area we weren’t catering enough to.”
Mr Gatcum is hoping that attendees will be able to use the program to explore sports and socialise.
“We want people to get active and involved in sports and get a feeling of inclusion,” he said.
“Hopefully it provides participants the opportunity to network and socialise with other people living with disabilities in the local areas.”
As for anyone unsure about taking part, Mr Gatcum advised them to come along and give it a shot.
“Just jump in and have a go,” he said.
The program costs $20 per person, with bookings essential.
