Organisers are expecting another bumper crowd for the three-day 2023 Seymour Alternative Farming Expo starting this Friday.

Event manager Jamie Gilbert said with more than 400 exhibitors, plenty of food and drink options, heaps of activities and demonstrations, as well as talks on a variety of topics, there was something for everyone at this year’s event.

“With the mild weather forecast for the weekend, and autumn the perfect time to get out on your property, the expo is a fantastic opportunity for green thumbs and small farm owners to check out the enormous range of plants, garden tools and machinery on display,” Mr Gilbert said.

The Learning Hub and farming lectures will provide workshops on a range of topics from reducing your environmental footprint and beekeeping to vertical gardening, camel farming and managing livestock of all shapes and sizes.

All the favourites such as the cooking, butchery, working dog, whip-cracking and drone demos are back, as well as an opportunity to try a new horse sport, Ozsort.

Kids big and small will love all the entertainment options, including camel rides, wood-turning, Farmer Darryl’s mobile animal farm, the Bunnings activity tent and reptile demos, as well as the opportunity to wander through the Arts and Craft Pavilion and the Livestock Pavilion, and to check out the classic car displays.

When it’s time to take a break, head to the food court, which has more than 25 vendors offering a range of cuisines catering for all tastes, as well as a great selection of soft drinks, coffee, craft beers and spirits.

Mr Gilbert also encouraged visitors to support Seymour’s flood recovery efforts.

“Just five months ago, record flooding devastated the surrounding area, and badly damaged the Kings Park Recreation Reserve that has been home to the expo for many years,” he said.

“As result we have decided to run all the free event programming on the rear oval to protect the main oval for this year’s Goulburn Valley Football League games.

“We’re also encouraging everyone who buys a ticket to the expo, to donate to the Kings Park Flood Relief Fund.

“Any amount is appreciated and 100 per cent of the funds will be donated to the cause.”

A range of ticket options are available, including a family pass (two adults and three children) from $48.

Online tickets are the easiest way to guarantee prompt and smooth entry — make sure you don’t miss a thing by grabbing your tickets and event guide from www.seymourexpo.com.au today.
